SGMA
Our current board has left us in terrible standing with the State Water Board and the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Their lack of action has left us in a state issued probation period with requirements for well monitoring and pumping fees.
If elected I will look to solve KCWD’s issue with SGMA by rejoining a GSA. This will ensure our board signs onto a GSP that will put us in better standing with the state. While the State’s overreach through SGMA is something no farmer wants to see, we must do our part to comply with regulations to keep our district in local control.
